An entire school quarter was spent deconstructing leaves to form modules and then modular illustrations. After studying ginkgo leaf forms in different stages of their life, I illustrated the leaf stylistically in three ways based on form and line, then made a colored leaf from the best.
The leaf was then broken down into pieces to become part of a modular system. A color palette and grid were also made for the pieces to join.
From adding color and applying to the grid, I made 5 illustrations using only the module pieces that is a metamorphosis of color, shape, intensity, and scale.
