How enchanting. Shooting in low light is the best..vibrant yet moody colors. There is much glitter in my lungs after this weekend, but it was worth it, even if the glitter particles are too small to make out in most of these. They are like magical clouds.

70′s road trip

From a trip a few years back, I had an undeveloped roll of 400TX- a great black and white film. This is the kind they refuse to do at a drugstore because they don’t have the proper chemicals.

I didn’t get prints made and instead scanned the negatives, which I think makes it look much older and cooler. Busted and from the 70′s. It gives me lots of ideas for texture on 35mm photos…too bad I normally shoot color, and my scanner can’t do color negatives. Womp womp.

Home for Christmas- home was Durham, North Carolina. I call San Francisco home more often now that I’ve been here 1.5 years. I miss seeing snow, but while in NC it snowed on Christmas day.

I also accidentally opened my camera while rewinding the film to develop…I don’t remember what photos I took that were fully lost. But it looks beautiful here.

The front page is pretty sweet, although not seen when viewing a blog post. I still have a few kinks to work out about it, but it is looking pretty classy at the moment.

I love living through others’ photographs, but I wish I could be a world traveler. It’s hard to believe things like this are possible on earth…light like that seems like it only belongs inside of a dust cloud in space.

re-enter the dreamland

The past two weeks I was actually in Austin, TX instead of San Francisco. frog design (my employer) has offices around the world, so when they need people in other offices, they can bring people from other offices to help them out. Hence my stay in Austin.

I was able to see Ame, one of my two best friends from high school.

AND I had a sleepover with Julie, one of my two best friends from college! (How best friends always come in threes with me, I do not know. I need a third for SF now, any takers?)

I was sick for all of last week while in Austin, and finally took a sick day yesterday due to my flight arriving at 2am and making me feel like crap all over again. And so in the afternoon when it wasn’t going so badly anymore, I set off smokebombs in my back yard.

Did you know smoke bombs are illegal in California? Law breakerrr!

So good to have a camera in my hands again. Even though it’s lately been filled with yarn, thread, beads, and clay…I do miss the camera always.

Is it better to burn out than to fade away?

It’s amazing how growing up the ideal that teen-oriented magazines taught was sleek, shiny, overly straightened hair. I have straight hair but always want fluffy, catches the light beautifully, slightly wavy hair. I only accomplish this with buns pinned all over my head or lots of braids, which gets me strange looks on public transportation. No more than normal, I suppose…

My new background for etsy photos. Spraymount headaches ensue.

I turned it into a wall decoration after making it so I have a permanent wall decoration whose nails holding it to the wall also double as a perch for prints to sit on. I also added 3 new prints to my etsy, with a few more coming tomorrow probably? Some from this summer plus one from last year’s lonely Christmas in SF by myself with a broken radiator.

Anyways, my etsy! Go to it! If you want! But I’m not forcing you!
