I’m going home to North Carolina for Thanksgiving, most likely. Driving the 3-day trip by myself, maybe stay at some KOA’s in a tent. That doesn’t sound so bad.
I’ve been trying to sell my car, and during a test drive by the one legitimate person who responded to my ad, the check engine light came on. This has happened before, but it’s been a $75 fix. I found out from a transmission expert that it will cost $2,362 to fix whatever is wrong with it. 2.3.6.2. That’s like half the worth of my car. I suggested to my dad that I just drive across country and we fix it together since he’s built a Porsche from the ground into being worth 60 thousand dollars, he agreed, hey look next week is Thanksgiving, hey cool this will be my first Thanksgiving in NC in 5 years!
By the way, I am devastated. I hate driving and just wanted to get rid of my car. It has been in great working condition, so I want to sell it, and now due to CA transmission laws, a large portion of my trans needs to be replaced when only one thing is wrong.
You rule, California.

I wish I was in this band
Or at least be their official photographer. I really do miss singing, though. Music makes me feel so much better, and singing just tops it off. It’s why I can’t help but sing along with a song I know (and this probably bugs most of my friends besides Emily & Ame, partners of the same crime). I’d probably be a much unhappier person without music.
If you have new music for me to listen to, or a band you love, you should suggest it to meeeee. I haven’t heard a lot of new things recently besides Dead Man’s Bones and the new King’s of Convenience album, so I want it.

weekend trips
After spending Halloween in the Haight, we came back to Richmond covered in a heavy fog, so of course I wanted to do something eerie with it. Brian actually looks like a giant. Praying mantis dimensions.
This past weekend, we drove about 20 miles south of SF and went to Moss Beach, which I chose for its giant cypress forests right against the ocean. (It’s also known for seals hanging out, and lots of tidepools.)

alcatraz
Brian wants to go to Alcatraz tomorrow with our new British friend. The last time I was there, I was 10 or so, and my brothers and I bought posters of infamous prisoners. Also, my brother kicked this globe hacky-sack I bought somewhere in Fisherman’s Wharf off the Golden Gate Bridge as we walked across it. Smooth, Scott. Smooth.

‘roid week / around the city
Two times a year on flickr, a magical event occurs that actually gets people to look inside flickr group pools. POLAROID pools, no less. ‘Roid Week, say it with me. Lasting M-F of a week, once in spring, once in fall, people save up their best and brightest polaroids.
I want a tattoo. Not of the bridge :) But this just reminds me that I want a little permanent art.
This amazing house is located in the Castro. Very much worth the paint touchups it probably requires.

Sooo golden. I usually use film that goes bluer when expired, but this was 779, so it went yellow.
I live nearby Presidio National Park..which, in the Star Trek universe, is the location of Star Fleet Academy.
I’ll probably post my favorite ‘Roid Week photos by other photographers later. There have been so many good pictures this week, so beware! Or look forward to it! But mostly, beware!
