still life with woodpecker #1 : title sequence for a teen audience 

"Can the design & animation of a title sequence change an audience's interpretation on the movie that follows?" My thesis was to make three title sequences, each targeting different age groups using differing imagery, music, pacing, and themes, in order to change how a movie is interpreted and affected by its opening titles. I used the book Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins as a base, as if the novel were being made into a movie.

This particular title sequence was made for a creative teen audience (think Wes Anderson) using eccentricities of the writer and breaking 3rd person, quick wit, and the extraordinary found in the ordinary day as its driving themes. It was done entirely using stop animation.
